30 th March: The Curtail Raiser

Gauhati Cine Club organized the 9th Jyoti Prasad Agarwala Memorial Lecture on 30th March 2015, by internationally acclaimed eminent film personality Adoor Gopalkrishnan. It was also the Curtain raiser of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations that begins from 26th April 2015 and continues to 25th April 2016.

Delivering the 9th Jyotiprashad Agarwala Memorial Lecture, Shri Adoor Gopalakrishnan said, �Real success is when someone sticks to his root and loves to remain such�.

26 April: The Inauguration

The celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Gauhati Cine Club began with flag hoisting by A K Absar Hazarika, President GCC. Later Shri H N Narahari Rao, Ex President FFSI, Premendra Mazumdar, General secy, FFSI, Apurba Kr. Das (The founder Secy of GCC) Madhurima Barua Secy GCC lighted the Ceremonial Inaugural Lamp. Members of GCC lighted 50 Earthen Lamps to mark 50 Years. The Golden Jubilee Mascot was also unveiled. The Welcome Gate has been designed by Sekhar Mukherjee, Faculty of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

May 23-24 : Celebration continues

As a part of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations, the Gauhati Cine Club organized screening of 3 ( three) French films
